This is a reply to a comment I got on Mastodon. It’s here instead of there because Mastodon caps posts at 500 characters, and this runs well past that. Mastodon and this site are both public spaces, and nothing here is meant to discredit the person I replied to, only to lay out context they were missing. For the record, she’s right that war is horror. There’s no romance, glory, or honor in it.

Levels

1. Independent Development

I don’t use AI at all. Neither for writing code nor for discussing it. This level is the slowest, but it’s fully my responsibility. It’s the only level where the answer “I don’t know why it works” isn’t acceptable.

2. Assisted Development

At this level, the AI is always in the car with me. The only question it who’s at the wheel. Like a rally driver and a co-driver, one is writing the code while the other reads the road ahead and depending on who takes the wheel, this level splits in two.

Hi! Honestly, I’m not sure what’s supposed to go in a first post — or if it even needs to exist.

I’m planning to make this site my main platform: thoughts, articles, maybe some photos.

Why does this first post have such an iconic name? Probably out of tradition. Or just courtesy — saying hello before getting to anything serious. There’s something important in this post though — a promise to future travellers: I won’t abandon this site.
